WHY DO YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SURVEY?

NHMS 2025 survey will assess older persons needs, identify health service gaps, and refine health programs to be evidence-based and effective. It aids resource allocation, infrastructure development, and workforce planning in healthcare sector to better support the ageing population's evolving needs.

What is the National Health & Morbidity Survey (NHMS)?

The National Health & Morbidity Survey (NHMS), or Tinjauan Kebangsaan Kesihatan dan Morbiditi, has been conducted since 1986 to monitor the nation's health status based on specific themes set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

How can I identify the NHMS 2025 team?

Our team consists of research officers and trained nurses, who will carry identification letters, name tags, and wear the official department vest.

What is the theme for NHMS 2025?

This year theme is older persons health. As Malaysia expected to be ageing nation by 2030 when 15% of its people will become 60 years and above. This will arise few issues on ageing population including health, social support, quality of life and other related issues.

How can I verify the identity of the data collector?

Identity can be verified through an official appointment letter, name ID tag, or by checking the personnel details on www.iku.gov.my/verify

What are the key topics covered in this year's survey?

The main topics covered in this survey include cognitive impairment, dementia, depressive symptoms, falls, visual and hearing disabilities, diabetes, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, social support, quality of life, and other issues relevant to older persons.

Who will participate in this survey?

This survey will involve 5,000 older persons aged 60 and above and an estimated 16,700 selected households nationwide, randomly chosen by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).
